Fine Italian food, brought to New York with intention.
Agata & Valentina was born in 1993 from a simple belief: that food should be more than sustenance — it should carry intention, craft and a story. From our doors on the Upper East Side, we set out to bring New York the kind of Italian and Mediterranean food you’d find in a family kitchen in Sicily.
We work directly with growers, fishermen, cheesemakers and artisan producers — from San Marzano tomatoes and extra-virgin olive oils to fresh pasta made daily in our own kitchen. No shortcuts, no compromise. Every shelf is curated by people who taste everything before it earns its place.
Our prepared foods, breads and pastries are made on premises each morning, and our produce is selected by hand. Whether you’re building a dinner, a gift basket or a catered feast, the integrity of the ingredient stays intact from our market to your table.

Our shelves are shaped by a circle of buyers and chefs who treat food as a living craft. Their palates carry traditions passed down through generations — and a restless eye for the exceptional. The result is a market that feels both timeless and entirely of today.
